Program Licensing:

Prairie Learning Center is licensed by the North Dakota Department of Human Services as a Residential Child Care Facility and maintains a Drug and Alcohol treatment provider license.

Facility  Description:

PLC is a private, non-profit residential child care facility providing a 24/7 group living program to accommodate, in a structured environment, the needs of at-risk youth with educational, behavioral, deprivation, unruliness or delinquency related problems.

6 months

IQ Range Accepted:

70 and up

The children we serve most successfully are behavior modification, cognitive, drug/alcohol abuse/ dependence.

  • Adjustment disorders
  • Substance abuse & dependence
  • Anxiety disorder
  • ADHD: bi-polar disorder
  • Conduct disorder
  • Dysthymic disorder
  • Impulse control disorder
  • Learning disorder
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Mood disorder
  • Narcissistic personality disorder
  • Oppositional defiant disorder
  • Reading disorder
  • Schizophrenia (stabilized on medication)
  • Parental relational problems
  • Somatization disorder

Do Not Accept:

PLC does not accept sexual offending adolescents who have not successfully completed sexual abuse treatment, a client who needs psychiatric treatment and clients who have severe learning problems, low IQ or severe aggression.
