  • Licensed Addiction Counselor

    We are hiring a Licensed Addiction Counselor!

    The Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) evaluates residents for chemical dependency history and uses this information to document signs; symptoms; physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual implications; and treatment recommendations. The LAC may be asked to speak with other providers and insurance companies to share their observations and recommendations; as well as re-evaluate residents to determine progress at each level of care. • The LAC develops a plan of treatment; shares the recommendations with members of a multi-disciplinary team for feedback; implements feedback and then implements the treatment plan within the established time frame. The LAC monitors the resident’s adherence to the plan and determines if short term goals are being met. • The LAC provides group therapy and CD education based on accomplishment of objectives identified in treatment plan. This may include individual and family therapy if ordered. • The LAC is responsible for coordinating care with referral sources and other providers, as well as treatment and discharge planning. Thorough documentation of assessments, evaluations, therapy notes, contacts made must be made accurately and timely. • The LAC has a professional duty to warn in cases of child and vulnerable adult protection. • Will be responsible for staff scheduling, assisting with problem resolution and training current and new counselors. • In some cases, the LAC may provide clinical supervision to students working towards licensure.

    Job Requirements:
    * ND Licensure as an Addiction Counselor
    * Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
    * Able to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
    * Make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
    * Be able to manage disruptive and explosive patients
    * Smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
    * Communicate thoroughly and accurately in a professional manner both verbally and in writing
    * Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are expected
    * Demonstrate a pleasant upbeat demeanor and positive attitude

  • Administrative Director

    Prairie Learning Center is announcing the opening of the Administrative Director position.

    We are a residential facility serving at-risk teenage boys, ages 12-18. We are located approximately 65 miles SW of Bismarck, North Dakota. PLC offers a country setting for residents and employees. Rural family values, use of the outdoors, and the creativity of each staff member make PLC a place where everyone has an opportunity to succeed.
    The Administrator shall have
    1. An advanced degree in business administration, social work, or a related behavioral science field from an accredited college or university.
    2. At least five years of experience in this field is mandatory, and two years of experience must have involved supervision of staff.
    3. Competency in administering services to children and families
    4. Skills to oversee human resource and financial management matters (i.e. working knowledge of budget planning, physical plant planning, fundraising and public relations techniques)
    5. Ability to speak formally and work effectively with an active board of directors, other providers, as well as local, state, and federal agencies.
    The candidate will be expected to live within a reasonable distance from the Facility.

  • Licensed Social Worker

    As a Licensed Social Worker, this position will be responsible for all aspects case management, implementation of all programming and coordination of case planning with custodians, referring agents, and parents. Prairie Learning Center is a Residential Childcare Facility located south of Raleigh ND, it is a high quality, child driven facility, working with boys ages 12-18 who are dealing with many issues of conduct, drug & alcohol, family, mental health, and school. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and who has the passion to make a difference for kids at-risk and provide the inspiration to motivate change. Qualifications required - must be a Licensed Social Worker, be 21 years of age, and have a valid driver's license.
